I am an Air Force Veteran, 7 years, and prior LEO of about 10 years. Throughout my military career and law enforcement career, I have always had a passion and liking for firearms and the second amendment. During these careers, I spent most of my "extra duty" time training others how to use guns both on the range and in tactical situations. While obtaining my training certification for an agency, I was required to become armorer certified for my position, which started me down my Gunsmithing path. I then put myself through Sonoran Desert Institute's two-year program and obtained my Gunsmithing Certificate.
While attending SDI, I took a finishing class, and I became obsessed with Cerakote application, stippling, frame modification, and laser engraving. Soon after finishing my studies at SDI, I started Liberty or Death Customs part-time, then soon after took it full-time. I currently am expanding my skill set, working with a master gunsmith, who has taken me under his wing, and I am focusing on American Gunsmithing Institute Master Gunsmith material.
My name is Brian Reis, I am a Colorado native who has a passion for God, family, and guns. I have an awesome family, who support me whole heartedly, and if it were not for them, I would not be anywhere near as successful. Our faith plays a big part in our lives, and we are blessed to be a part of an awesome faith community.
We have been in Pagosa Springs now for about six years, moving from the front range. We have found moving back to a rural community in the mountains to be a breath of fresh air. Small town life, though it makes business more of a challenge, is truly amazing.
Living in the mountains, has allowed us to connect with forgotten hobbies of the outdoors, which we love such as hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and enduro riding.
Here at Liberty or Death Customs, we believe in treating every customer's gun as if it was our own. We provide professional service, high standards, and integrity in our dealings. We take pride in communicating with our customers to ensure we are fully meeting their needs in a timely manner.
We pride ourselves in our craftsmanship and high degree of standards of work that leaves our shop. If I would not pay for a job which leaves my shop, I certainly do not expect my customers to do so. This is why we take communication so seriously, as well, this means we warranty our work! Any project which has a defect due to craftsmanship, workmanship, or coating failure (not wear and tear) will be re-done free of charge.
I am a fully licensed Gunsmith in the State of Colorado, and hold and active FFL
